Is there any precedence for inviting the Lord to touch stones with His finger?

Thomas R. Valletta

“There are fascinating rabbinic legends to the effect that Noah enjoyed light in the ark because he carried with him divinely given shining stones. If such stones are true, then the brother of Jared was acting in harmony with the deeds of a prophet who was less than a century and a half removed from him” (McConkie et al., Doctrinal Commentary, 4:273).

Footnote a to Genesis 6:16 in the Latter-day Saint edition of the Bible states: “HEB tsohar; some rabbis believed it was a precious stone that shone in the ark. Ether 2:23 (23–24).”
