Here the praise becomes explicit. He praises Yahweh for leading him through afflictions in the wilderness and upon the waters of the deep. Unlike Laman and Lemuel, Nephi does not imply that Yahweh sent these trials. They were not punishments—just trials, and Nephi was grateful for Yahweh’s support in enduring them.
