Verse 20 begins the section of explicit praise to God. In this case, praise for the support through the afflictions. Note that it is very important that Nephi, unlike Laman and Lemuel, makes no imputation that the trials came through God's hand. They were not punishments from God, they were simply trials, and Nephi lauds his God for the support through those afflictions.
