This verse is another transition from the lament to the praise section of the psalm. Nephi continues the lament for personal sin, and then begins the transition to praise by shifting the emphasis from himself to God. He does this by indicating that during his times of disconsolation, he yet remembers the deity in whom he has placed his trust in the past (and by reference, has been the source of the many blessings and benefits implied in verse 16).
