Where will the gathering take place?

Thomas R. Valletta

“The place of gathering has been established, and there is ‘none other place appointed,’ we are told, ‘until the day cometh when there is found no more room for them; and then I have other places which I will appoint unto them, and they shall be called stakes, for the curtains or the strength of Zion’ (see D&C 101:20–21; Isaiah 54:2–3; 3 Nephi 22:2–3). The stakes of Zion are the gathering places for latter-day Israel” (McConkie and Millet, Doctrinal Commentary, 1:166). The New Jerusalem “will be built upon the American continent” (Articles of Faith 1:10).
