Gideon’s sword is the weapon Gideon drew when he swore to slay King Noah. Gideon, described as “a strong man and an enemy to the king,” “drew his sword” in wrath against the king (Mosiah 19:4).
Later, Nehor was angry because Gideon “withstood him with the words of God,” and Nehor drew his sword and smote Gideon. Gideon, “stricken with many years,” was “slain by the sword” (Alma 1:9).
