In the final pages of the Book of Mormon, we are presented with a banquet of spiritual nourishment: how to search for happiness in the light of Christ; how to foster faith, hope, and charity in our lives; how to become like little children (who in their innocence are saved through the Atonement); how to know the truth of all things through the Spirit; and how to come unto Christ and be perfected in Him.
This wisdom is the essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ in a succinct and illuminating summary of truth. What more can be said? The goodness of God is showered down upon His children through this glorious book. We can become perfected in and through our Savior Jesus Christ by virtue of the grace and power of God. How we ought to thank our Heavenly Father and our Savior for the words of eternal life that have come down to us through the suffering and sacrifice of so many choice servants of God, enabling us to live by “every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4; Moroni 7:25; D&C 84:44; 98:11)! The long sequence of prophets down through the history depicted in the Book of Mormon; Mormon himself, the magnificent abridger; his faithful companions (including his son Moroni) in the curatorship of the sacred records; the beloved Prophet Joseph who translated the records by the gift and power of God; and all the rest who have made this record possible—these are the valiant servants of God who have assisted in the restoration of the gospel in its fulness through the grace and mercy of the Lord. This work can be an instrument in saving our lives as we live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
