Familiar with the prophecies of Isaiah, a copy of which the Nephites had upon the Brass Plates of Laban, and copies of which were widely distributed among them, Moroni herewith recorded a prayerful injunction to the members of the Church of God. He uses Isaiah's phrase, O Jerusalem, to express his beautiful hope that the earthly tabernacle of God's Kingdom should grow, and that no longer would the travails and the pains, and the perplexities of existence, hamper the enlargements "of its borders forever," or in other words, until the kingdoms of the Earth shall become the Kingdom of God. As the Kingdom of God grows in extent, and in strength, and in power, we may look forward to the continuing fulfillment of the "Covenant of the Eternal Father which He hath made unto thee, O House of Israel."
