Moroni, though he “had supposed not to have written more” (Moroni 1:1), is moved to expand his record with his own book, including the extraordinary postlude promise that the Holy Ghost will confirm the truth of the record to all who seek earnestly to gain a testimony thereof. He exhorts his brethren the Lamanites (and by extension “all the ends of the earth”—Moroni 10:24) to remember the goodness of God and the things He has caused to be written (and included in the Book of Mormon). If they ponder and pray, they can know the truth of all things by the power of the Holy Ghost. The gifts of the Spirit are granted to those who come unto Christ with a fervent commitment to serve others through such gifts. It is only through unbelief that the gifts and power of God are removed.
