This is one of the most quoted passages in the Book of Mormon, because missionaries ask “investigators” (those people who are learning about the LDS Church and thinking about converting) to read it and pray about it as they are making their spiritual decisions. Often referred to as “Moroni’s challenge” or “Moroni’s promise,” it emphasizes the experiential and personal nature of prayer as a path to truth. Again, Moroni emphasizes the need for sincerity and “real intent” in prayer.
