Moroni expresses his intention, that "after I have spoken a few words by way of exhortation unto you," "I will seal up these records." By "these records" he meant those "few plates" which his father "gave unto my son Moroni," (Mormon 6:6) and also the writings he himself had made, which included his abridgment of King Mosiah's translation of the Twenty-four Plates of Ether.
When, in the wisdom of the Lord, these Records shall come forth to the knowledge of the Remnant of the Lamanites who endure at that day, he exhorts them to remember "How merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down unto the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts."
