“I Am Yet Alive”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

Amidst the terrible bloodshed of raging battles that surrounded him, Mormon wrote to Moroni to inform his son that he was yet alive and to encourage him not to give up hope. In explaining to Moroni the conditions of the people and the losses to the war, Mormon painted a graphic portrait of the prevailing wickedness (compare Mormon chapters 2-6).
