“Baptize Those Who Are Accountable and Capable of Committing Sin”

Brant Gardner

The solution to the problem is proper instruction in the correct principles. For this reason, Mormon does not simply instruct Moroni to denounce the baptism of little children but rather instructs him to teach the proper understanding of the principles underlying baptism. He explains that repentance and baptism are inseparably connected, a condition that requires baptismal candidates to be “accountable and capable of committing sin.”
