Mormon saw that his brethren to whom he spoke were meek and willing to show their faith in Christ by good works-works of righteousness. He also saw in their humility a complete dependence on God, and therein a meekness which the Lord Jesus Himself promised that such a one would inherit the Earth; not as conquering invaders, but as children and heirs of Him, Who is the Ruler of all. Mormon interpreted their integrity to Christ's teachings as a mark of their faith in Him, saying: "If ye have not faith in Him then are ye not fit to be numbered among the people of His Church."
