The hill Ramah was one of the major hills in the lands of the Jaredites. Later when the Nephites moved into this area, they evidently called this same hill by the name of Cumorah. Moroni says that the hill Ramah "was that same hill where my father Mormon did hide up the records unto the Lord, which were sacred." (Ether 15:11.) In Mormon 6:6 this hill is identified as the hill Cumorah.
