The first year of the fifteen years of Ethers ministry was characterized by a great war and secret combinations seeking destruction. Coriantumr opposed the secret combinations but was not willing to repent. To repent was the first requirement given by Moroni to the Gentiles to prevent their destruction by secret combinations in the latter days (see Ether 8:23).
