Moroni knows the great truth set forth in John 3:16 that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son to redeem the world. However, unless the Gentiles of the latter days have charity and accept the writings of the Nephites even in their weakness, then they will lose their ability to understand the gospel and it will be given to others. Thereupon Moroni prayed that the Lord would bless the Gentiles that they might receive the writings of the Nephites in a charitable manner.
