Moroni was worried about the reaction of later peoples to his weak writing skills. He felt that he was ineffective at verbalizing or expressing in proper grammatical syntax the powerful words and teachings the Lord gave him, and he succumbed to the common mortal inclination to compare his abilities with others. Comparison is the root of all inferiority. Moroni lamented that he could not even come near the ability of the brother of Jared to create “mighty” writings, “unto the overpowering of man to read them.”
The Lord reassured Moroni, confirming that fools will indeed mock but the humble followers of Christ will not be concerned with any weakness in writing. Through the Holy Spirit they will be accepting of the life-changing messages.
