We are now introduced to two of the three important actors in the final drama of the Jaredites. The first is Ether, whom we have seen as the son of Coriantor the prisoner. The second is Coriantumr whom we meet as the king over all the land. While his genealogy is not given, he is either the “mighty man” of Ether 11:17 or probably his son.
In any case, it would appear that we have an interesting replay and reversal of the beginning at the end. The descendants of Jared and the brother of Jared are two of the main players in the endgame, but at the end it is the descendant of Jared the ruler who is the prophet, and the descendant of the brother of Jared the prophet who is the ruler.
