Moroni explains that the stories of the Creation and of Adam, and the history of the world to the time of the building of the great tower occupied the first part of the twenty-four plates, but that this section was omitted from his version because it was "had among the Jews," referring to the records of Moses. This is a notable testimony to the genuineness and the authenticity of the first eleven chapters of the Book of Genesis in the Bible, and, by inference, of the whole five Books of Moses. Here, as elsewhere, the Book of Mormon is, in the language of many scholars, "A New Witness for God."
