Moroni’s vision has let him know that his future audience will not understand the Nephite language on the plates. He certainly could not say “none other people knoweth our language” about his own day. Furthermore, translation will not be achieved by a scholar, but by someone able to use the “means for the interpretation thereof” that Yahweh has prepared.
