Moroni moves from description to exhortation, rebuking the modern world for allowing such a perversion of Yahweh’s word. He would have been particularly dismayed by materialism, because he would have known, from his father’s book, about the persistent problems the Nephites had with the Nehors. Moroni encourages the world to turn to the scriptures to learn of the true God.
