In urging further readers to “search… Isaiah,” Moroni is repeating the Savior’s instructions in Bountiful (3 Ne. 20:11, 23:1). Speaking to people in the future, Moroni sees Isaiah as a guide to that future time. He ties the future to the past, however, when he invokes past inhabitants of the land. They bear witness, as does Isaiah, that Yahweh “will remember the covenant which he hath made” with the children of Israel, including those in the New World.
