This admonition apparently applies to future recipients of the Book of Mormon generally, since it does not fit either Joseph Smith or those immediately around him. It does, however, apply to all human beings who have the opportunity to receive the gospel and especially the Book of Mormon. For all of them the message is the same: “The eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on, until all his promises shall be fulfilled.”
