“Whoso Receiveth This Record, and Shall Not Condemn It . . . Shall Know of Greater Things Than These”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The Book of Mormon is the font of the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as the gateway to even greater revelations from God. Those who accept the Book of Mormon will be filled with light and thus merit even more light to come. As Alma said, “and he that will not harden his heart, to him is given the greater portion of the word, until it is given unto him to know the mysteries of God until he know them in full” (Alma 12:10). In our day, the Lord has declared, “That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day” (D&C 50:24). According to the vision of Moroni, the future readership of the sacred record of Joseph, should they receive this word with humility and faith, would become heirs to greater truths. “And he that receiveth me receiveth my Father,” said the Redeemer. “And he that receiveth my Father receiveth my Father’s kingdom; therefore all that my Father hath shall be given unto him” (D&C 84:37–38). Let us therefore receive the message of the Book of Mormon with thanksgiving and partake freely of its wisdom—that we might prepare ourselves for even greater blessings.
