Moroni now adds a most significant detail. Once the Nephites were all slain one would have thought the Lamanites would have settled down and reveled in their great victory. But not so. They turned on one another. It appears that the Gadianton robbers were determined to become the new rulers of the land, and so there was murder and bloodshed to determine who the new rulers would be now that the Nephites were destroyed.
