Mormon knew that for a long period of time the Gentiles will scatter and destroy millions of the Lamanites. It will only be after the remnant of the Lamanites have been reduced to the lowest level of existence that God will remember his promises to Abraham, and will remember the seed of Lehi in America, and the prayers of their prophets and leaders down through the centuries that eventually the Lord would remember them and rescue them.
