These two deadly adversaries seesawed back and forth until 350 A.D. when the Lamanites and their allies, the Gadianton robbers, agreed to let the Nephites have the land northward if they would surrender to the Lamanites and Gadiantons the entire land southward. So it was on this basis that a treaty was accepted.
