Not only were the Nephites driven out of the city of Angola, but they were also driven out of "the land of David" (Mormon 2:5), which is a land for which no city is mentioned in the Book of Mormon. According to John Sorenson, the land of David could have been westward along the Cintalapa Valley from Mirador, Chiapas, Mexico (which is the normal way to reach the Pacific coast from the upper Grijalva/Sidon river).
