The battle site suggests that Nephite and Lamanite territory had remained roughly the same, despite the capital’s probable move to Bountiful and the redefinitions of “Nephite” and “Lamanite” during two centuries of peace. Nephite holdings are still to the north, and Zarahemla would still be closer to the traditional Lamanite holdings. Lamanite armies had always invaded down the Sidon Valley, and this incursion apparently followed that traditional path.
