How were the twelve disciples to be even as the Savior?

Thomas R. Valletta

Latter-day Saint scholars Ogden and Skinner wrote: “How shall we behave in this world? Whom shall we emulate? Among all the models, idols, stars, and heroes in our world, whom should we most want to be like? Our Savior asked and answered that very question: ‘What manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am.’ ‘That which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do.’ President Ezra Taft Benson said: ‘The only measure of true greatness is how close a man can become like Jesus. That man is greatest who is most like Christ, and those who love him most will be most like him.’ ([“Listen to a Prophet’s Voice,” 57])” (Book of Mormon, 2:223).
