“Ye Shall Be Judges of This People”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Not by strangers, not by others who had no first-hand knowledge of the trials and vicissitudes by which the Nephites had been confronted, but they will be judged by their own-the Disciples whom Jesus had chosen from among the people.)5 They should judge justly according to the manner of judgment Christ promised to give unto them. "Therefore," He said, "what manner of men ought ye to be?" "Even as I am," was Christ's answer to His Own query.

From footnote number five we learn that the Twelve Apostles who were chosen by the Savior from among the Jews at Jerusalem-because they were to judge the Twelve Tribes of the House of Israel-would judge the Twelve Disciples from among the people of Nephi because the Nephite Twelve were of Israel themselves.
