“Then Shall the Offering of Judah and Jerusalem Be Pleasant Unto the Lord”

W. Cleon Skousen

Malachi not only anticipated the first coming when Jesus would bring the new covenant but he also anticipated his second coming in glory when he would judge the world. This would be a great day of purging, education and refinement, especially for the sons of Levi among the Jews. They would finally offer an offering unto the Lord in righteousness so they could receive the higher priesthood. John the Baptist had anticipated this when he conferred the Aaronic priesthood on Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. He said:

"And this (priesthood) shall never be taken again from the earth until the sons of Levi do offer again and offering unto the Lord in righteousness."1
