Why are Isaiah’s words so great? Because “he spake as touching all things concerning my people which are of the house of Israel.” He expounded the meaningful events and lessons from his own day, but also from all other dispensations—past and future. His visions are all-encompassing, from premortal council, rebellion, and war to millennial reign and celestialized earth. His discourses are all-inclusive: he treats all significant gospel doctrine, from practical religion and basic principles and ordinances to elevated concepts of temple worship, work for the dead, establishment of Zion, and eternal glory. Isaiah saw God while living in mortality (2 Nephi 11:2).
