“Taught of the Lord”

Brant Gardner

The presence of children brings consolation after sorrow. These children and their father will be present: The father will teach them. In the Nephite context, this passage refers to the Triumphant Messiah’s presence in the New Jerusalem. It must have been particularly poignant for those who witnessed that spiritual Father teaching their own children just the day before. If that experience presages the relationship of the future father and the future children, it will indeed be a blessing beyond comprehension.
