We sometimes forget how much travail the children of Israel have endured while they were scattered and persecuted during many centuries. But in this verse, Isaiah declares that in the latter days they will have their hour of triumph. They will no longer be ashamed or confounded. Their past suffering and stunted life and persecution in the dismal ghettos of Europe and Asia will seem like a fading nightmare as they become more closely associated with their Redeemer once again.
