As part of last-days events, these believing Gentiles who have been adopted into the house of Israel will help build the New Jerusalem, which will be on the American continent (Articles of Faith 10). Included among them will be a “remnant of Jacob,” meaning descendants of Book of Mormon peoples. Since Jacob received the name Israel (Gen. 32:28), remnant of Jacob and remnant of Israel are synonyms.
