Those who bring good tidings, who publish peace and salvation, who testify, “Thy God reigneth!” or “God lives!” are, particularly, the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. See further in commentary at Mosiah 15:14–18.
Medical doctors assisting missionaries throughout the world conclude that of all the parts of the body that they treat for ailments, the feet are among the most frequent victims. Over the ages, and again in this last dispensation, many tired, blistered, and swollen feet have carried the glad tidings of great joy.
“How beautiful” is Hebrew mah nauvoo. This is the source of the name Nauvoo, the city the Saints built on the banks of the Mississippi River. The name was probably first seen by the Prophet Joseph in his study of Professor Joshua Seixas’s grammar A Manual Hebrew Grammar for the Use of Beginners, from which he studied in the School of the Prophets in Kirtland, January–March 1836.64
“Him that bringeth good tidings” is one word in Hebrew (m’vaser), containing the same root word as besora, which is “gospel.”
Once again, “salvation” is Hebrew Yeshua—in English, “Jesus.” Declaring salvation, then, is declaring Jesus.
