At the prayer’s end, Jesus has the adults rise. They “were overcome” (v. 18), which in the Book of Mormon indicates that they would have fallen to the ground. Jesus has them arise, suggesting that they had fallen to the earth from their kneeling position. This is likely a signal of the next event. The prayer would therefore have been directed to the parents. Now Jesus turns to the children.
