We know that it was Jehovah, who is Christ himself, that made covenant with Israel. All that he did, however, was done under the direction of the Father. “The Father sent the prophets; they represented him and they spoke his word. When Jesus quoted the Old Testament prophets to the Nephites [see 3 Nephi 21:14; 3 Nephi 24:1], he attributed their words to the Father.
