Apparently the disciples in Jerusalem had pondered the Savior's strange reference to his "other sheep" but they had decided he must be talking about the Gentiles. Jesus said this was a mistake because he would not show himself unto the Gentiles nor would they hear his voice, but he would send his apostles to preach to them and only manifest himself to them through the confirmation of the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.
