“And After This Manner Shall Ye Baptize in My Name”
In the previous four verses the Savior had explained the qualifications for baptism, the manner of baptism, and the words to be said with the ordinance. These instructions were given as a new dispensation was established. With the restoration of the Church in this last dispensation, the Lord once again gave explicit instruction to his earthly servants concerning the same principles (see D&C 20:37, 71-74)
