Similar words are said at every LDS baptism, just before the person getting baptized goes into the water. Note that although Mormons believe in the three beings of the godhead—the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost—they do not subscribe to other Christians’ belief that all three beings are actually three-in-one, comprising a holy Trinity. Latter-day Saints do not believe that the idea of the Trinity has a solid grounding in scripture. Instead, they see the beings of the godhead as three separate personages who are wholly united in purpose and ministry (see verse 27).
