This verse concludes the poetic structure above. It does not fit into the poetic forms but terminates it. The poem announces the requirement of repentance for the listeners; this verse provides the consequence. The poetry is hopeful, repeating the Messiah’s desire to gather his children. The conclusion spells out the consequences of refusing the Messiah’s invitation. The threat that “your dwellings shall become desolate” would be very real to these people after the destruction they had just witnessed.
