Just as it is part of Mormon’s spiritual history that the people were righteous, it is equally important that they universally acknowledge the Atoning Messiah. This doctrine has been an essential aspect of Nephite religion since Nephi1’s day; but it is particularly important now. These people are living between two of the greatest miracles ever displayed in the heavens; the signs of the Messiah’s birth and those of his death. They are a generation who will see the Messiah in person. Certainly they should be believers in the true Nephite religion, now that the time is so nigh when the true Nephite faith will be gloriously justified.
