Motivated by Giddianhi’s life-and-death threat, the Nephites turn to Yahweh, repent, and live righteously. Significantly, Lachoneus is a righteous man who speaks “great and marvelous… words and prophecies.” The movement of the records out of the political line did not mean, in this case, that the Nephites lacked righteous political leaders.
