Scriptures lead to faith in the Lord, repentance, change of heart, firmness, steadfastness, and “fear to sin,” that is, strict obedience—all of which are accompanied by blessings.
The Lamanites, like the Jews, are promised that “in the latter times,” after their many afflictions through the centuries, the Lord will be merciful unto them and help bring them back to the knowledge of their Redeemer.
