Nevertheless, even though Samuel came with a powerful message of warning, his purpose was to let them know of the nearness of the coming of the Savior so that they could repent and prepare themselves. In fact, he said he is willing to give them yet another sign.
This final sign is in connection with his death, but before he tells them of the cataclysmic destruction which will occur in America at the time of his death, Samuel wants to say something about the sacred and eternal consequences of his great sacrifice.
