This testimony of Samuel is perfect. It gives expression to three saving doctrines: first, that the promised Messiah is to be God’s Son; second, that he is the Redeemer for all mankind; and third, that redemption comes only to those who take upon them his name. Each expression is an indispensable doctrine of salvation; each is a doctrine taught in great plainness in the Book of Mormon; and each is a doctrine whose true meaning has been lost to our modern world.
