Yahweh has total control over the earth, the ocean, and all other natural features. He can curse inanimate objects, and they obey. If he curses a man because of his “iniquities,” then without question “it shall be done.” Mormon is again highlighting the curse of destruction that punishes iniquity. Yahweh made the promise. Yahweh promised prosperity upon righteousness, and it happened. So too will the penalty for unrighteousness be inflicted.
